Nutrition
Good nutrition plays an essential role in a child’s growth, development, learning, and overall well-being. Our Head Start Nutrition Services team provides children with nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks in a welcoming environment that encourages healthy eating habits. Meals are planned to meet federal nutrition requirements while introducing children to a variety of wholesome foods and positive mealtime experiences
Needed Information
To help us safely meet your child’s nutritional needs, families will be asked to provide the following:
- Current information about food allergies, intolerances, or dietary restrictions
- A medical statement or special-diet form completed by an authorized healthcare proffesional when a meal modification is needed because of a disability or medical condition
- Instructions for approved food substitutions or changes in food texture or consistency
- Updated emergency medication and healthcare information for children with serious or life-threatening food allergies
- Updates whenever your child's nutritional or medical needs change
